ADRA Thailand - Adventist Development and Relief Agency

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is the global humanitarian arm of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. With a foundational mission rooted in justice, compassion, and love, ADRA works to serve people in poverty and distress to create just and positive change. The organization is committed to serving all people, regardless of ethnicity, political affiliation, or religious association.
ADRA’s work is divided between two primary areas: emergency response and sustainable community development.
- Emergency Management: ADRA provides rapid and effective humanitarian relief in the wake of natural disasters and complex emergencies. This includes the provision of essential aid such as food, clean water, shelter, and medical care, with a focus on restoring communities and building resilience to future shocks.
- Development Initiatives: The organization focuses on long-term development projects that address the root causes of poverty. Key programmatic areas include:
- Health: Working to build healthier communities through a focus on maternal and child health, nutrition, and access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
- Education: Creating equitable and inclusive learning environments, with a particular emphasis on removing barriers for vulnerable children, including girls, ethnic minorities, and children with disabilities.
- Livelihoods: Empowering individuals and communities with the skills, resources, and market knowledge needed to improve incomes, expand economic opportunities, and achieve self-sufficiency.
ADRA operates through an extensive, professional network in over 100 countries, leveraging its global presence and deep local connections to deliver culturally relevant and impactful programs. The organization’s commitment to high standards of transparency, accountability, and partnership with communities, governments, and other NGOs ensures that its work creates lasting, positive change.
